Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract is made when your payment is received and we confirm the order by email.

Each stone page says how quickly a size can be sent: stones we hold ship the same or next working day, other sizes in our range are ordered in and ship in about two weeks, and sizes cut to order take about three weeks. If we can't supply a stone you've paid for, we tell you and refund it in full.

Prices are in South African rand. Moissanite SA CC is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged.

If a price on the site is clearly wrong, we'll tell you before your order is sent. You can then pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

Online payments are processed by PayFast. We never see or store your card details. Trade orders are invoiced and paid by EFT.

We deliver within South Africa by tracked courier. Delivery is free on retail orders. Trade orders are free from R1 500 and R150 below that.

The stone is our responsibility until it is delivered to the address you gave us, and yours from then on. Please check the address carefully, because a parcel sent to a wrong address you gave us can't always be recovered.

You can return an unset stone within 14 days of delivery for a full refund. That is longer than the 7-day cooling-off period the ECT Act gives you. Sizes cut to your measurements are excluded from change-of-mind returns. The returns policy has the details and explains how to send a stone back.

Every SOLA™ stone carries a lifetime warranty that its brilliance, fire, colour and clarity will not change. This is in addition to the six-month warranty of quality the Consumer Protection Act gives you.

The images of stones and jewellery on this site, including the turning stones, the homepage film and the hand used to show a stone on a finger, are digitally rendered. Each is made from the real cut geometry of the stone and the published optical properties of moissanite (its refractive index and dispersion), so that every cut and size can be shown consistently and in the same light.

Some lifestyle pictures, such as a hand resting on silk beside a stone, are AI-generated illustrations of mood and setting. They do not show a specific product.

The rendered images are faithful representations, not photographs of the individual stone you will receive. Every stone is individual, and how its brilliance and fire appear depends on the light around it and on your screen.

Sizes shown “at actual size” are drawn to your screen's calibration. Until you calibrate against a bank card they are close rather than exact. The hand used for scale has a ring finger 17 mm across, a typical ring-finger width.

We collect what we need to sell and deliver to you: your name, email, phone number and delivery address, and what you ordered. We use it to process your order, deliver it, answer you and keep the records the law requires.

We share it only with the services that do that work:

• PayFast, to take payment;
• The Courier Guy, to deliver your parcel;
• our email provider, to send order emails; and
• our website and database hosts, which store it securely.

We don't sell your information or use it for marketing unless you ask us to. Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you: email sales@moissanite.co.za.

Cookies: the site keeps your cart in your browser and uses its own cookies to keep you signed in. If you accept, it also uses Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are used. Google receives your browsing on this site but not your name or contact details, and nothing is used for advertising. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page.

If you create an account, keep your password to yourself. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

We are responsible for the stones we sell, as these terms, the warranty and the law set out. Except where the law says otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our liability for an order is limited to what was paid for it. Nothing here limits liability that the Consumer Protection Act doesn't allow us to limit.

South African law applies. If something goes wrong, contact us first at sales@moissanite.co.za or on 010 100 8760, and we'll try to put it right. If we can't, you can take a complaint to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud, or to any other forum the law allows.

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed. An order is governed by the terms in force when it was placed.
